Scarlett D.
Vanyi
Executive Director
California Independent Schools Business Officers Association
We partnered with the California Independent Schools Business Officers Association on the search for an Executive Director. Cal-ISBOA fosters a thriving community of school business and operations professionals by building lasting connections, advancing best practices, and enabling members to serve their schools to the fullest.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Scarlett Vanyi to the role.
Vanyi is a mission-driven executive with 24 years of experience with five nonprofit membership-based associations. She served in a variety of capacities during her career that developed skills across every aspect of association management including governance, strategic planning, membership and program development, meeting and event management, communications and marketing, public relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, governmental relations, operations and administration, budgeting and finance, and human resources.
She most recently served as Chief Operations Officer for the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) for more than five years. As Deputy to the Executive Director, Vanyi oversaw daily activities and provided leadership for a state association with nearly 100 staff and $22M operating budget. Vanyi guided ten direct reports across all departments and led numerous association-wide initiatives including long-term strategic planning.
Vanyi also previously served in leadership roles at the California Association of School Business Officials, California School Boards Association, and California Building Industry Association.
As the Chief Executive for the California Society of Enrolled Agents (CSEA) for six years, she partnered closely with the Board of Directors to advance a variety of priorities that strengthened CSEA’s culture, programs, and financial standing. Scarlett’s strong ability to collaborate effectively with boards, committees, members, and staff was paramount to her success at each organization, and her leadership elevated them to distinctly more vital and relevant associations.
Vanyi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. She earned designation as a Certified Association Executive from the American Society of Association Executives in 2010.
