Project Scientist

We partnered with Project Scientist on the search for a President & CEO. Project Scientist partners with schools, libraries, and nonprofits nationwide to ignite and cultivate science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) confidence in marginalized and underserved girls. By delivering high-quality STEAM experiences, it provides access to education and gainful career pathways that expand professional opportunities and awareness.

Our work resulted in the recruitment of Dr. Patrice S. Johnson to the role.

Previously, as Chief Programs Officer at Black Girls CODE, Johnson supported a global movement to put Black girls first in technology.

Prior, she collaborated with members of Congress as Vice President for the Center for Policy and Research at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.

Johnson spearheaded transformative partnerships and programming as Executive Director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit.

She also served as the youngest elected Pro Tempore Mayor for Muskegon Heights, Michigan.

Johnson holds a BA in Social Relations and Public Policy from Michigan State University. She received her MA in Ministry Leadership from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She earned a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership and Development from Cornerstone University.
