Vice President, Communications, PR, and Brand Strategy
College Track
We partnered with College Track on the search for a Vice President of Communications, PR, and Brand Strategy. College Track is a comprehensive college completion program that equips students confronting systemic barriers to earn a bachelor’s degree, in pursuit of a life of opportunity, choice, and power.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Tommy McDonald to the role.
McDonald has more than 25 years of experience as a seasoned communications strategist at notable organizations, including the Drug Policy Alliance, Tom Steyer 2020 Campaign, MidPen Housing, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, and TMC Strategy.
Throughout his career, McDonald has played a pivotal role in crafting and implementing effective communication strategies surrounding various social justice and public policy issues. His strength lies in his remarkable talent for translating complex “policy wonk” jargon into clear, relatable language for all audiences.
McDonald is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University, a devoted father of two, an enthusiastic football fan, and a part-time musician. In his free time, he enjoys the great outdoors, taking walks with his dogs, and playing vintage guitars.
