Aparna
Mukherjee
Executive Director
Society of Environmental Journalists
We partnered with the Society of Environmental Journalists on the search for an Executive Director. The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) is the only North American membership association of professional journalists dedicated to more and better coverage of environment-related issues. SEJ’s mission is to strengthen the quality, reach, and viability of journalism that advances public understanding of environmental issues.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Aparna Mukherjee to the role.
Most recently, Mukherjee served as the Chief Program Officer at Resolve Philly, where she ran the solutions nonprofit’s newsroom. She has also worked in East Asia and Germany and held posts at The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Bloomberg News, the Associated Press, McKinsey, the Paley Center for Media, and the Goldhirsh Foundation. In 2020, Mukherjee was a John S. Knight Community Impact Fellow at Stanford University and worked in the University’s Deliberative Democracy Lab.
Mukherjee holds a BS in English from Bryn Mawr College and a Master’s degree in Journalism and an MBA from Columbia University.
