A three-time executive director, an experienced civil rights attorney, and a leadership coach, Andrew “Andy” Tarsy brings a range of experience to the work of executive search. He has been building diverse, effective teams and guiding boards through complex transitions for more than two decades. Andy’s collaborative style and uncommonly deep network of leaders across a wide variety of sectors make him an effective partner in executive search. He is mission-driven and a team player.

As Managing Director, Andy helps mission-driven organizations navigate transitions in leadership. He primarily works on searches at the CEO and Executive Director levels and is quick to draw on the extraordinary depth of talent and specialized expertise across the firm.

Andy’s clients include high-profile regional, national and global social justice organizations, business accelerator programs, news/media platforms, community health centers and both public and quasi-public agencies. His work straddles the nonprofit, private, and public sectors with a focus on mission, and spans industries and functions with a deep involvement within our CEO and Media, Entertainment, and Sports practices.

Andy served as Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League of New England and President of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate as well as President of the Alliance for Business Leadership. He is a co-founder of Supplier Diversity consultancy Conscious Customers.

He was a Senior Fellow at UMass Boston in the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies and served as a Visiting Professional at the International Criminal Court in the Hague. He teaches business ethics and leadership at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Earlier in his career, Andy served as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice and has been appointed to boards and commissions in Massachusetts by Governors of both major political parties.
