Kate

Phillips, PhD

Senior Associate

Kate has dedicated her career to furthering education by serving as an innovator and leader in executive administration across the higher education, K-12, and nonprofit sectors.

Before joining Storbeck Search | Diversified Search Group, Kate served higher education as the Executive Director of Strategic Planning and Initiatives at Randolph-Macon College, managing a venture fund for new program development to support the academic diversification and strategic growth of the College.

Prior to working in higher education, Kate worked as the Executive Director of Operations, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Strategic Initiatives and Development for the South Bend Community School Corporation, a public school system serving more than 16,000 K-12 students in Indiana. Previously, as a postdoctoral fellow at enFocus Inc., she consulted on intelligence and strategic planning for public and private schools.

Educated as a physicist, Kate conducted research with data from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Large Binocular and Keck telescopes. She has also contributed to multiple academic publications, including the Astrophysical Journal. During her graduate studies, Kate was a Fellow with the National Science Foundation’s GK-12 program through the Notre Dame Extended Research Community, which brings innovations in STEM education and outreach to K-12 schools and regional communities.
