As Managing Director at DSG | Koya, Trevor Hooper offers his deep expertise in executive search, talent assessment and client relationship management to the Nonprofit and Sports sectors. Trevor joins DSG | Koya from Russell Reynolds and Associates (RRA) where he procured leadership positions for the Global Social Impact, Sports, Philanthropy and HR practices.

He consulted with over 100 organizations and foundations in building optimal diverse teams. Trevor successfully placed leaders in the C-suite, partnering with high-profile board committees and senior management to advance their mission-driven organizations. He guided client teams during critical transitions on governance, culture and succession planning, and completed search and advisory work for a variety of top institutions, including: Seattle Foundation, San Francisco Foundation, Tides, Cal Academy of Sciences, Boys and Girls Club of LA Harbor, College Track, Texas Women’s Foundation, The NFL and NFLPA, USA Soccer Foundation, Living Cities, Children’s Defense Fund, Harlem Children’s Zone, Equal Justice Works, USA Water Polo, US Tennis Association Foundation, Facing History and Ourselves, Cristo Rey San Jose, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Philadelphia Orchestra, Low Income Investment Fund, Bay Area Discovery Museum, Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Public Counsel, Sonoma Land Trust, Benetech, Tipping Point, Education Development Center, among others.

Trevor held strategic leadership positions before heading to RRA, including at The Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University, where he was Senior Program Director for Education Partnerships and for the Mural Music and Arts Project in Menlo Park, first as a Strategy Consultant, then as Executive Director. Trevor was also a founding member for the acclaimed Year Up Bay Area organization, based in San Francisco, from start-up, staffing employees and students, to managing the program through growth for six years.

Trevor is keenly aware of the nuances involved in leading an organization in making a difference in the lives of others, especially with a lens for equity. Trevor serves clients nationally and is based in Boston.

Trevor holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Community Organization from Stanford University, where he was captain of the football team. His senior year, Trevor received The Al Masters award, selected as the student/athlete displaying the highest level of leadership and respect of his teammates. Trevor currently spends his time traveling and being outdoors with his family, and playing and listening to music.
