Amanda Ryan-Smith, MSW, CFRE is an award-winning nonprofit executive with over 20 years experience and a proven track record of: significantly increasing revenue, impact, and visibility; building and leading highly effective teams; creating and executing innovative fundraising strategies; and driving change management in complex environments.
Amanda is currently the Chief Development Officer for DigDeep, working to ensure that every American has clean, running water forever. She was previously the Chief Development Officer for The Trevor Project, a global LGBTQ youth suicide prevention nonprofit. During her 3 years at Trevor, Amanda led the team to raise more than $200M, increasing annual fundraising revenue from $30M to $80M.
Prior to Trevor, Amanda led fundraising for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, where she secured a $10.8M gift to expand health centers into West Texas, doubled fundraising revenue in 5 years, and oversaw two successful campaigns. She was a national leader in the Planned Parenthood network and received the Planned Parenthood Fundraiser of the Year Award in 2018.
Amanda has also led fundraising at the National Center for Lesbian Rights and other nonprofit organizations. She holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah with her partner Cal and their child Bea.
