Easterseals Florida, an affiliate of the national Easterseals nonprofit, has been dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities since 1948. Easterseals Florida provides a comprehensive range of services across the state, including early intervention, education, workforce development, veteran and senior support, and autism diagnostic services.
The search resulted in the appointment of Bev Johnson as President and CEO.
Johnson brings a dynamic combination of healthcare leadership, strategic growth expertise, and a deep commitment to advocating for individuals with complex needs. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her clinical background and public health expertise to drive meaningful change. Her experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and program development has been instrumental in positioning organizations for growth and impact.
Most recently, she served as President and CEO of Easterseals Northeast Central Florida, where she successfully led the organization through a period of transformation and expansion. By diversifying program lines, enhancing revenue streams, and strengthening partnerships, Johnson’s leadership positioned the organization for long-term success, ensuring sustainable impact for the communities it serves.
Prior to Easterseals Northeast Central Florida, Johnson had a successful tenure at two YMCA affiliates. In addition to leading large teams, directing operations and overseeing programming, she developed and implemented innovative, grant-funded health initiatives including elderly health access programs and childhood obesity prevention initiatives.
As she steps into the role of President and CEO of Easterseals Florida, Johnson will lead the integration of Easterseals Northeast Central Florida and Easterseals Florida into a unified organization, expanding services to 42 counties. She will focus on setting a bold vision for the future, driving forward Easterseals’ mission to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals.
Johnson holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Florida, as well as a Master of Science in Physiology from San Diego State University. A servant leader at heart, she is deeply committed to fostering collaboration and innovation to create transformative impact within the disability community.
