We partnered with Prince George’s Community College on the search for its Vice President for Equity, Culture, and Talent. Prince George’s Community College provides high-quality, transformative learning experiences that enrich lives and empower students to earn credentials leading to personal development, professional advancement, and economic prosperity.  

Our work resulted in the recruitment of Chanelle Whittaker to the role.

In her new role, Whittaker oversees talent at Prince George’s Community College, including training and development and the many aspects of its organizational management and change.

For the past 13 years, Whittaker has served in higher education leadership roles in Sacramento and Oakland, California. She was recently Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources for the Los Rios Community College District and was previously Interim Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Employee Relations for Peralta Community College District, where she served as acting Director for Human Resources and Director for Employee Relations and Diversity Programs. While in California, she oversaw district-wide functions for human resources, employee and labor relations, diversity, equity and inclusion, risk management, and legal affairs.

Whittaker has, throughout her career, demonstrated an unwavering dedication to advancing racial equity, diversity, and inclusion. She also developed several diversity programs that received a significant amount of California state funding.

Before working in higher education, Whittaker focused her legal career on labor and employment, civil litigation, and civil rights.

A graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she received her Bachelor of Arts, Whittaker earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, New York.
