Chief Programs Officer

The Asian American Foundation

We partnered with The Asian American Foundation on the search for a Chief Programs Officer. The Asian American Foundation is a convener, incubator, and funder accelerating opportunity and prosperity for AAPI communities.

Our work resulted in the recruitment of Georgette Bhathena to the role.

In this role, Bhathena oversees programming and strategy to achieve maximum impact. She has over 20 years of experience working across sectors in purpose-driven organizations.

Prior to joining TAAF, Bhathena led the trust-based grantmaking strategy and nonprofit partnerships on the Zoom Cares team. Zoom Cares, the social impact arm of Zoom, puts the full weight of the company’s platform, dollars, employees, and voice behind a commitment to foster equity, democratize opportunity, and address some of humanity’s biggest challenges.  Zoom is a proud partner of TAAF on the AAPI Giving Challenge.

Previously, Bhathena held senior positions at Tipping Point Community, the San Francisco Foundation, and JPMorgan Chase, among others.

She is a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellow.

She lives in the Bay Area with her family and favorite corgi Rosie.

Bhathena received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. She earned her Master in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
