Tillman
Executive Director
Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research
We partnered with Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research on the search for an Executive Director. Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research is a nonprofit that works to ensure the highest ethical standards in research by providing education, membership, and other professional resources to the research and research oversight community, including those who work with human subjects protections programs, institutional review boards, animal care and use programs, and institutional animal care and use committees.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Dr. Ivy Tillman to the role. Dr. Tillman is the third Executive Director in the organization’s history.
Tillman’s appreciation for research ethics and its impact on public trust began many years ago as a research coordinator focused on pediatric sickle cell disease research. Her initial experience in research established the lens through which she views her responsibility to educate, advocate and empower research ethics professionals.
Previously, Tillman served as the Director of Research Operations at the Mayo Clinic, and was the prior IRB and HRPP Director at Augusta University.
Tillman holds Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and French Language and Literature from Clemson University. She received a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration and Management from Troy University. She earned a Doctorate of Education from Augusta University.
