Katherine
Thompson
Chief Executive Officer
Family House
We partnered with Family House on the search for its CEO. Family House serves as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by providing physical comfort and emotional support, free from financial concerns.
Our work resulted in the recruitment of Katherine Thompson to the role.
Thompson has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit administration, development, and communications, with a focus on building community.
In this role, Thompson oversees all aspects of Family House as it strives to provide family-centered care for critically ill children and their families.
Previously, at Grace Cathedral, Thompson led development, communications, and arts programming for more than ten years, helping the cathedral and its leaders grow fundraising, reputation, engagement and reach for the spiritual heart of a compassionate city.
Volunteering with SFMOMA led Thompson to professional fundraising roles with MOCA Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University.
Early in her career, she held marketing roles with Wells Fargo, Stern Marketing and Charles Schwab, where she learned about building brands and values-based cultures.
Thompson earned a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
