Junkeer

Executive Director

Mount Baker Foundation

We partnered with Mount Baker Foundation on the search for an Executive Director to succeed its Founding Executive Director. Mount Baker Foundation is a private foundation focused on supporting communities to become stronger, healthier, more resilient, and more compassionate generation after generation.

Our work resulted in the recruitment of Zeenia Junkeer to the role.

Junkeer is an experienced organizer, facilitator, advocate, systems thinker, strategist, and health care professional who believes in community-led and driven approaches.

A connector, healer, and advocate at heart, Junkeer has combined her work in social and racial justice practices with her training as a Naturopathic physician to work towards equitable health outcomes that center on healing and liberation through traditional (Indigenous) ways of knowing.

Previously, Junkeer served as Director, Population Health for the North Sound Accountable Community of Health. She also served as Director of the Oregon Health Equity Alliance.

Junkeer serves on the board of Oregon Community Health Workers Association and as co-chair of the Joint Task Force on Universal Health Care. She is a former board member of Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette.

Junkeer was born in Colombo Sri Lanka and raised on Atfalati land (Beaverton, Oregon).

Junkeer holds a BS from Arizona State University. She earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences.
