The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM) at the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding faculty candidates with board certification and expertise in Sleep Medicine to join our rapidly expanding and dynamic program. The successful candidate will join a diverse academic division with strong faculty expertise in sleep, critical care medicine, advanced lung disease, lung transplantation and interventional pulmonology. Practice settings include Keck Medicine of USC which encompasses a network of hospitals and outpatient clinics around the Los Angeles area.   

The Director of the Keck Sleep Medicine Program will be responsible for the growth and expansion of clinical services within the flagship medical center and to developing areas. They will provide direct patient care, polysomnography study interpretation from the sleep laboratories and home sleep testing program. The Director will have direct oversight of USC’s Sleep Disorders Center with significant involvement in the Sleep Fellowship. This individual will be responsible, along with the Program Director, for education and training of medical students, residents, PCCSM and Sleep fellows, attending and proctoring in outpatient sleep clinic, and participation in all academic activities of the Division. Collaboration with otolaryngology, neurology, psychiatry, and dentistry is expected with opportunities in emerging areas of sleep research including hypoglossal nerve stimulation, transvenous phrenic nerve pacing and dynamic MRI modeling of the airway.

Qualifications 

  • MD or equivalent degree. 
  • Residency training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Neurology. ABIM, ABFM, or ABPN board certification in Sleep Medicine.
  • Ability to obtain full, unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in California. 
  • Academic accomplishments commensurate with appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at USC.
