The Department of Population Health Sciences (PHS), part of the Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio (UTHSA), is seeking to recruit faculty investigators with expertise in Community-Based Participatory Research. This is an open-rank faculty position. 

The Department of PHS has 21 faculty from diverse disciplines (e.g., social, and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, health systems science, and clinical informatics). Research areas of strength include social determinants of health, cancer survivorship, and cancer health disparities. 

UT Health San Antonio is also home to the NCI-Designated Mays Cancer Center, which includes a strong Population Science & Prevention (PSP) Research Program with more than 36 faculty conducting research in areas of basic science, translational research, clinical research and prevention and personalized risk assessment aimed to address cancer disparities in their 38-country catchment area that is home is a population that is nearly 70% Hispanic. As such, recruited faculty with cancer-related research would find a welcome home in the PSP program. 

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an innovative, independent, collaborative, and extramurally funded research program with a focus on community based participatory and/or community engagement research. UTHSA is particularly interested in applicants whose research focuses on engaging community voice, community development and resiliency, health disparities, and multi-level approaches to addressing systemic health inequity. 

This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in TX. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
