East Stroudsburg University (ESU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean, College of Health Sciences. ESU seeks an accomplished and transformational leader to serve in this key leadership position to develop and advance a vision of interdisciplinary health science and provide support to talented students, faculty, and staff. This position represents an opportunity to focus on sustaining and advancing the college's academic excellence, student success, and community partnership expansion.

The Dean of the College of Health Sciences maximizes student-centeredness, collaboration, vision, and communication, and provides leadership for eight academic departments (i.e., athletic training, communication sciences and disorders, exercise science, health science, health studies, nursing, physical education, and public health). The position serves as the region’s academic center of innovative educational, scholarly, and service programs. These programs are designed to meet the workforce needs of diverse local, national, and international communities.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean of the College of Health Sciences will lead the college in developing inter-organizational collaboration to harness the knowledge and skills of the area’s health services professionals and educational systems to create opportunities for student learning and job preparation, partnerships for faculty research, and improvements to the quality of life of the Pocono Region. Through this collaboration, the dean will facilitate solutions to the region’s health challenges. The Dean of the College of Health Sciences will possess knowledge of clinically based programs, teaching certification programs and prevention within the context of national health care reform. She/he will facilitate opportunities for partnerships between schools; community-based health care agencies; social service organizations; businesses; and the ESU health sciences faculty, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
