Tuskegee University invites nominations and applications for the position of President. The University seeks a leader with a deep foundational understanding of a liberal arts and science education and commitment to Tuskegee’s distinctive strengths in the sciences, architecture, business, engineering, health, and other professions to serve as the Tenth President of this esteemed institution.

Tuskegee is a family of more than 300 faculty, 490 staff and nearly 2,600 students, located in Tuskegee, Alabama. Founded in 1881, the university is rooted in a history of successfully educating African Americans to understand themselves and their society against the background of their total cultural heritage and the promise of their individual and collective future. Tuskegee is recognized as the #1 Institution for Social Mobility and the #4 HBCU in the country by U.S. News and World Report, as the national top producer of African American aerospace science engineers, African American Ph.D. holders in material science and engineering, and more African American general officers in the military than any other institution. Tuskegee is the only historically black college or university with a fully accredited College of Veterinary Medicine that offers the doctoral degree and produces over 75% of the African American veterinarians in the world. The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) has a rich renown history, and the campus has been declared a National Historic Landmark.

The President will report to the Board of Trustees and is responsible for all institutional operations including administrative, academic, financial, student, and alumni affairs. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader who appreciates the rich legacy of Tuskegee and has the vision to ensure the University’s impact continues for years to come. Tuskegee seeks a President who embraces the opportunity to inspire, innovate and propel the University to even greater success.
