The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, is seeking Clinician-Investigator, Medical Oncologists for faculty positions. Focus areas of priority include Genitourinary, Gastrointestinal, Lung, and Head and Neck Cancers.

The successful candidate(s) will join a thriving multidisciplinary medical oncology practice in Mays Cancer Center, one of the nation's NCI-Designated Cancer Centers with over a 40-year tradition of excellence in development of new cancer therapies, understanding cancer biology, and decreasing the burden of Cancer in San Antonio and South Texas.  

Mays Cancer Center, which cares for a population of over 5M residents across 38 counties, is poised for remarkable growth with the opening of the new Multispecialty Research Hospital (MSRH), scheduled to welcome patients in December, 2024. The MSRH will be an 8-story, 144-bed specialty care hospital focused on cancer, orthopedics, urology, and thoracic and bariatric surgery. The facility is set to become a host site for early-phase clinical trials, including all state-of-the-art cell therapies for cancer, from allogeneic stem cell transplantation to CAR-T cells.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. M.D. or M.D./PhD from an accredited institution.
  2. Fellowship trained and board certified/board eligible in Medical Oncology.
  3. Proven track record of clinical excellence in hematology and/or medical oncology, including oncology-related research and publications.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Commitment to patient-centered care, continuous learning, and innovative research.
