UNMC is located in Omaha, one of the nation’s best cities to which to live, and one of the four universities that compose the University of Nebraska. UNMC has six colleges and two institutes, serving about 3,900 students in more than two dozen programs. UNMC has seen unprecedented growth across all its missions, particularly research. The only public academic health sciences university in the state, UNMC is closely partnered with Nebraska Medicine, a tertiary and quaternary referral hospital ranked by US News and World Report among the top 100 hospitals in the US, and the leading academic health system in the region. It has 809 licensed beds at its two hospitals, more than 1,000 physicians, and 40 specialty and primary care clinics in Omaha and surrounding areas.
