The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative seeks a creative, entrepreneurial, and results driven program leader to serve as the Senior Program Director for City Support and Student Engagement. The Senior Program Director leads a team of colleagues who provide programmatic support for mayors and senior city government officials as well as programs and fellowships that place Harvard students in city halls around the world. The Senior Program Director provides vision and leadership in partnership with Harvard team members, faculty, and students, and Bloomberg Philanthropies and other collaborators, in the design and delivery of these high-impact programs.Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Program Director will grow the impact of a slate of programs that support city leaders and students in improving the lives of residents of cities around the world. The Senior Program Director will lead, mentor, and support a team of eight.


The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative

The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative—a program of the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University—is a collaboration between Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, and Bloomberg Philanthropies to equip mayors and senior city officials to tackle complex challenges in their cities and improve the quality of life of their residents.The Initiative offers high-impact executive development programs for mayors and senior level city government officials to focus on their personal leadership and organizational practices within their cities. The Flagship Mayors Program welcomes 40 mayors and senior leaders each year. The Program for New Mayors engages mayors as they transition into office and over their first 100 days. A range of additional targeted programs include Managing Talent Acquisition in City Government, Leading City Procurement Reform, Negotiation for City Leaders, and Leading Civic Engagement.
