The State University of New York Plattsburgh invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the role of Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (Provost/SVPAA). The university seeks a Provost/SVPAA who demonstrates exemplary leadership and vision while fostering a culture that empowers a wide range of creative thoughts and perspectives.

SUNY Plattsburgh is a vibrant, public, comprehensive university and member of the State University of New York’s (SUNY) comprehensive system of higher education. The university is recognized for the way that it maintains high academic standards and expectations in a caring, supportive environment. SUNY Plattsburgh currently enrolls over 3,800 undergraduates and over 500 graduate students, who attend in-person classes on SUNY Plattsburgh’s 300-acre main campus on the shores of Lake Champlain, its branch campus at Queensbury, or through its online and extended learning platforms.

SUNY Plattsburgh is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) and authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. The university's accreditation was reaffirmed in June of 2022. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for the 2029 – 2030 academic year.

The Provost/SVPAA reports to the President, is the senior vice president of the University, is a member of the Cabinet, may be asked to serve as the Officer in Charge in the absence of the President, and is the senior officer focused on Academic Affairs. The Provost/SVPAA supports the University's academic mission by providing vision, leadership, and management in a diverse multicultural, international, and high technology environment. They will be working with all university constituents on campus to coordinate proactive and effective campus connections that support the full life cycle of a student — from pre-college and retention to post-graduation.

All applications, nominations and inquiries are invited. Applications should include, as separate documents, a CV, and a letter of interest addressing the themes in this profile.
