About Sall Family Foundation

Sall Family Foundation (“SFF”), founded more than 30 years ago, supports transformative change, underpinned in evidence-based approaches, at the nexus of environment, public health, and livelihoods. We believe that the people in communities are best placed to make the decisions that affect their everyday lives, enabling them to generate locally governed and sustainable solutions for the long-term – benefiting both people and nature.

SFF’s vision is turned into reality by a simple approach – backing leaders and organizations closest to the big challenges to the environment, public health, and poverty, empowering them to experiment, learn, and evolve as the planet around them changes. This is achieved through funding of both locally led civil society organizations and larger non-profit agencies with whom we encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration. This dual approach ensures community-driven approaches can leverage collective wisdom, scientific evidence, and scale efficiencies.

Our work is driven by curiosity, learning, and experimentation. We embrace the complexity and long-term nature of problems, knowing that leaning into the complexity leads to sustainable solutions that break the mold.

The Opportunity

A new position, the Managing Director, will focus across all SFF programming: Environment, Public Health, and Livelihoods with a central focus on Communities and community-led solutions. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the fellow Managing Directors (2) and grantee partners, this new team member will play a critical role in shaping and driving a body of work that leverages what has been learned to date and exciting new opportunities to improve lives around the world. The role brings together elements of program development and insight, research, impact measurement, and learning for both internal and external audiences. This role offers an opportunity to play an essential part in shaping SFF’s future direction.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The starting salary range for this role is $165,000 - $225,000. Starting and upper tier ranges are dependent on cost-of-living adjustments and your place of residence.

SFF provides generous benefits, including fully covering the insurance premiums.

Work Location & Travel

The position is flexible in location within the United States. The ability to travel domestically, and in some cases, internationally, approximately 10 - 20% of the time is required. Please note, SFF is unable to sponsor work visas at this time.
