Novant Health Cardiothoracic Surgeons is seeking an additional surgeon to join their well-established cardiac surgery group to champion the advancement of the LVAD and ECMO programs in the Winston-Salem market. The cardiothoracic surgery group of four physicians is ranked among the highest quality in the nation with a 3-star rating from the Society for Thoracic Surgeons. They perform more than 1,200 cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures annually, 85% of which are heart cases. The market is growing, and Novant is building its cardiac thoracic surgery team to match.
In addition to skills in minimally invasive and endovascular techniques, experience, or interest in LVAD is essential. Surgeons are employed by the Novant Health Network, a group of over 1,900 physicians and advanced practice providers in more than 800 locations in North Carolina and South Carolina. The surgical practice is affiliated with Forsyth Medical Center, an 859-bed hospital that is part of Novant Health, Inc., a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system.
Qualifications
- MD, or equivalent degree with appropriate certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
- Must hold, or be eligible for, unrestricted state medical license in the state of North Carolina.
- Experience in LVAD and ECMO required.
- A strong commitment to patient care, reflecting a service-oriented philosophy with hospital administration and with colleagues in other specialties.
- Current DEA license is required.
