Wellstar Health System (Wellstar) is seeking an inspiring, dynamic, strategic, innovative, and transformational leader to serve as System Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. The new EVP/CFO will be an individual with extensive financial executive experience; deep understanding of all aspects of financial operations; proven ability to formulate the strategic financial direction of the health system; experience engaging with internal, community, regulatory, media, rating agency, government and other stakeholders; and demonstrated success building and mentoring teams.
Based in the Atlanta metro area, Wellstar is one of the largest and most integrated healthcare systems in Georgia with over 30,000 team members including 6,000+ nurses and over 3,000 physicians and advanced practitioners. Wellstar is comprised of 12 medical centers, 300+ medical office locations, 9 cancer centers, 21 imaging centers, 18 urgent care sites, and 5 health parks. Additionally, Wellstar is the only health system with a network of Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 trauma centers in metro Atlanta. To remain on the cutting-edge of healthcare, Wellstar has committed a $500M investment to the implementation of a digital operating model that leverages advanced technology to streamline workflows, improve communication among care teams, and optimize resource utilization.
Reporting directly to Candice Saunders, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wellstar Health System, the new EVP/CFO will be a highly visible and impactful member of the senior leadership team and will have extensive interface with the Wellstar Board of Trustees, including serving as a key advisor to the finance, investment, and audit committees. The Chief Financial Officer has a broad scope of responsibilities encompassing oversight of financial management, reimbursement, decision support, budget/capital planning, treasury, accounting, revenue cycle, patient financial services, managed care contracting, and supply chain management.
