Rocketship Public Schools is a collective of parents, teachers, leaders, and students working together to transform the future for low-income communities across our country. At Rocketship Public Schools, we are unleashing potential. Rocketship schools are top tier schools known for academic results and a holistic approach to personalized learning. Rocketship has successfully launched 23 elementary schools across the country since first opening in the Bay Area over sixteen years ago.

Rocketship Tennessee opened in 2014 with Rocketship Nashville Northeast Elementary as the inaugural school. In 2015, Rocketship United Academy opened, and in 2022, Rocketship Dream Community Prep opened. Our three Rocketship Tennessee schools now serve over 1,500 students and families in Nashville. The three schools are located in underserved parts of the city, yet our Rocketship Tennessee schools rank among the top five highest-performing schools for economically disadvantaged students out of all 74 elementary schools in Nashville. Our Nashville schools have been named a “Reward School,” the highest recognition for student achievement by the Tennessee Department of Education.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Tennessee Executive Director serves as the leader of the Rocketship Tennessee region and is responsible for setting the strategic vision aligned to Rocketship’s 5 Year Plan, shaping the external environment, and leading the regional teams to achieve transformational results. The Executive Director manages a $24M budget and oversees three public schools serving nearly 1,500 students as well as efforts to continue to grow the impact of the Tennessee region in opening additional schools in Nashville or other cities throughout Tennessee. There are 150 regional employees working in and out of schools focused on: student achievement, development, parent organizing and leadership, external relationships management, family recruitment, integrated special education, and much more.
