The Organization

The Pat Brown Institute at Cal State LA (PBI) is a non-partisan organization dedicated to “unleashing the power of participation” focusing on civic education and public policy research. Under the civic education and engagement rubrics, the Institute serves as a convener to raise awareness about timely policy issues, coordinates programming such as Civic U©, voter engagement programming, the James R. Galbraith Fellowship, the PBI Civic Quiz, candidate debates, and the SELA Initiative. Our public policy and research program focuses on developing pathbreaking community surveys and research projects regarding racial/ethnic groups, equity, and public policy relevant to California.

The Leadership Opportunity

The Pat Brown Institute is seeking a visionary Executive Director (ED) to reignite its founding mission and redefine its role in shaping government and public sector leadership. This leader will develop imaginative and pragmatic approaches to inspire civic engagement, driving PBI’s impact on policy innovation in California.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $78,756 - $252,792/yearly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range: $139,992 - $189,996/Yearly). A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
