NeighborHealth formerly known as East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and formed by a merger with South End Community Health Center (SECHC), is seeking a Medical Director of Pediatrics. The Medical Director will be responsible for the administrative and clinical development of medical staff in Pediatrics, oversee the clinical performance of the Pediatric Department, and provide patient care for a pediatric patient panel. In addition, the Medical Director will provide strategic leadership for the Department of Pediatrics and have the ongoing goal of standardizing pediatric care across all areas of NeighborHealth. For interested candidates, an academic appointment as faculty at Boston Medical Center may be possible.


Responsibilities

  • Development and updating of departmental clinical policies and procedures along with the Clinical Administrative Director and Associate Medical Director
  • Oversee Clinical Quality Management and Utilization Management of the department along with the Clinical Administrative Director and Associate Medical Director
  • Supervise all clinical employees, including physician and non-physician practitioners and other clinical staff in the department of pediatrics
  • Assist the department in annual performance improvement projects
  • Collaborate with the IT department for data reporting and validating IT reports
  • Work closely with coding and billing departments to ensure proper coding and fund allocation
  • Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance
  • Promote a sense of “teamwork” through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation
  • Solve problems independently or know when to seek consultation
  • Display outstanding customer service skills when interacting with all NeighborHealth customers according to the Advocacy Center of Excellence (ACE) model
  • Adherence to all NeighborHealth and departmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in required departmental activities and meetings, including Clinical Leadership, the Community Development Services (CDS) Workgroup, Epic Workgroup, Medical Safety Committee, Medical Standards Committee and Performance Improvement
  • Perform other related duties

  • Read, understand and comply with all Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission policies, requirements set forth by the United States Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration pursuant to Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, applicable State regulations and guidelines, and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at NeighborHealth
  • Uphold procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information
  • Uphold safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures


Education & Experience

  • MD or DO Degree, board certification in Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Subspecialty
  • Eligible for a licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-training clinical experience, including experience in primary care pediatrics
  • Demonstrated administrative leadership experience
  • Ability to use data to evaluate outcomes required
  • Working knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems, performance dashboards, database products, and analysis tools
  • Must have the ability to lead change in an organization and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
  • Highly developed emotional intelligence (EQI) skills would be considered a plus
  • Strong community orientation with a track record of collaborating well with others
  • Be a leader who engenders trust and operates with the highest integrity

This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in the state of Massachusetts. Compensation is competitive with national benchmarks and commensurate with the experience, achievement, and responsibilities of this position.
