About Miami Country Day School

Located in the dynamic Village of Miami Shores neighborhood, Miami Country Day School (MCDS) is designed to meet the needs of every student, every day, everywhere. Rooted in its commitment to educating the whole child – both inside and outside the classroom – MCDS’ mission has defined its growth over the past 85 years and continues to advance both its program and community today.

The feeling of community is palpable as soon as students step onto campus. MCDS strives to cultivate an environment that is both inviting and inspiring; from the very moment they arrive, students have access to such experiences as the one-of-a-kind Abess Center for Environmental Studies, the fully-equipped Center for the Arts, and the Garner Center for Innovation.

With a culture that nurtures innovation and creativity, and strives for excellence, all while balancing physical and mental wellness, MCDS prepares students for not only college but for life beyond schooling. MCDS students are tomorrow’s leaders, and the School prepares them to take on that task with purpose, an enlightened global perspective, and an enduring spirit of kindness.

The Role of Chief Advancement Officer

Miami Country Day School, an independent, coeducational learning community with approximately 1,380 students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 seeks an experienced, thoughtful fundraiser with a proven track record to serve as its next Chief Advancement Officer.

Reporting to the President and Head of School, the Chief Advancement Officer will oversee all aspects of fundraising and lead the school’s efforts to secure annual, capital, and endowment support and strengthen its growing culture of philanthropy. Leading a fundraising team of seven professionals, the successful candidate will oversee the cultivation and solicitation of major and principal gifts and implement a plan for engaging all constituents. In addition, the chief advancement officer will actively manage a portfolio of donors, evaluate existing philanthropic strengths, and build systems that support long-term growth and fundraising goals.
