Asante Physician Partners (APP) is a group of top medical professionals working together to provide comprehensive care to patients in Southern Oregon.  With approximately 300 primary care physicians, specialists and advanced practice providers practicing in 30 locations in Southern Oregon and Northern California, APP collaborates with other health care professionals throughout the area to offer patients a full array of quality care close to home, supported by Asante’s full range of services and hospitals. Specialties include cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, colorectal surgery, endocrinology, ear/nose/throat, maternal fetal medicine, neurology, general surgery, pediatric oncology, pulmonary medicine, and urology.  APP also provides a full range of work health services - Health Promotion, Occupational Health and Physical Therapy - to businesses primarily in Josephine and Jackson counties.  APP has approximately 600 employees.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Asante, the Vice President of Operations (VPO) at Asante Physician Partners is charged with leading the efficient operations of all APP practices.   This leader is responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient operational and clinical support consistent with the goals and objectives of APP and Asante Health System. The VPO works with APP and Asante leadership in support of the APP practices; advancement of technology solutions; and development and implementation of efficient/effective models of care delivery.  The VPO has responsibility for supporting APP provider performance and is responsible for financial accountability, employee and provider engagement and patient experience for all APP clinics.

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes the following:  

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in a multi-specialty physician group practice setting.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field is required.  
  • 5+ years of experience in leading physician group operations within the context of a health system environment, with significant exposure to all aspects of a group practice including but not limited to operations, recruitment, contracting, and revenue cycle.
  • Knowledge of physician compensation models, productivity measures, and industry benchmarking.
  • Knowledge of contracts and contractual arrangements related to clinical services and physician hospital relationships to include employment, professional services, call agreements, service agreements, and management agreements.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulation governing physician hospital business relationships, such as but not limited to Stark, Anti-kickback, Antifraud & Abuse.
  • Ability to manage effective relationships and collaboration with a wide range of individuals from professional to front line, as well as members of the community.
  • Proven skills as a mentor and coach.
