Trinity College of Arts and Sciences seeks a dynamic and strategic individual to serve as the inaugural Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This inaugural role will serve as a catalyst, convener, and strategy thought partner to ongoing efforts in Trinity College, which includes over 700 faculty, nearly 600 staff, and over 7000 undergraduate and graduate students. The director will be pivotal in advancing the college's commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning and working environment. This individual will be an integral member of the Dean's leadership team and, in close collaboration with academic departments, faculty, and administrative leaders within and beyond Trinity, will establish strategic goals, convene DEI leaders across the college, share best practices, and report progress to enhance the collective impact of Trinity's DEI efforts. The director will work to support Trinity’s goals of fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational environment as well as the broader institutional strategy for diversity and inclusion.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will have a unique opportunity to shape and enhance the college's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, contributing to an environment that fosters academic excellence and supports the personal and professional growth of all members of the Trinity community. This role requires a passionate advocate for DEI principles, dedicated to creating positive change within the College of Arts and Sciences.

A senior leader within Trinity College, the Director should hold a master’s degree in higher education, sociology, social work, psychology, or another related field and have a minimum of 7 years of experience with progressive responsibility in diversity, equity, and inclusion education, training, and development A terminal degree is preferred.
This is a full-time position located in Durham, North Carolina. The compensation will be commensurate with experience and is enhanced by a generous benefits package.
