Meals on Wheels of San Francisco (MOWSF) is the recognized leader in senior nutrition and supportive services in San Francisco, the Bay Area, and the country. Since 1970, it has provided nutritious, home-delivered meals and services to homebound seniors. It is the only agency providing two meals daily throughout San Francisco.
Driven by its mission of “Nourishing the Whole Person,” MOWSF delivers nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services so that seniors can live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as safely possible. This takes an industrious staff of 160, an annual operating budget of $29M, a committed Board of Directors of 20, and a loyal donor and volunteer base.
The Opportunity
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing and enforcing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. As a collaborative partner to the CEO and an active member of the senior leadership team, the CFO plays a critical role in strategic planning and execution of organizational, fiscal, and operational goals. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The CFO also oversees and participates in all accounting functions and with risk management of the organization.
Managing a team consisting of a Controller, 2 Senior Accountants, an Accounting Assistant, and a paymaster. The 2025 revenue budget is $29 million, and MOWSF has $37 million in net assets.
