Endeavors’ services, programs, and staff positively impacted the lives of 70,000 individuals across 26 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in 2022. As ever-changing needs develop across the communities they serve, Endeavors rises to the occasion providing help to those in need. Endeavors’ work revolves around delivering programs through the following core competencies: case management, behavioral health and wellness, rapid deployment, and sheltering.
Endeavors provides a diverse set of services through the following 4 service lines:
- Community Based Services: These programs provide supportive housing, case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities for chronically homeless adults, individuals with disabilities, and children throughout Texas.
- Behavioral Health and Wellness: These programs offer services to help Veterans, First Responders, the homeless, and their families live successful lives — including free and low-cost counseling, suicide prevention training, mental health therapy, life skills courses, wellness, case management, and more.
- Emergency Services: With a proven track record in disaster relief and recovery, Endeavors steps in to help the community’s most vulnerable individuals during crises such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and other inclement weather, public health, and humanitarian crises. Endeavors provides emergency sheltering and staffing support as well as long term recovery support through their Disaster Case Management program which helps survivors rebuild their lives through individualized recovery plans.
- Migrant Services: Serving the migrant population since 2012, Endeavors’ Migrant Services team assists individuals seeking safety and protection by providing for comprehensive care and support to newly arriving children and families, including shelter, access to basic medical and mental health care, legal orientations, home study and post-release services, staffing, and holistic programming for unaccompanied migrant children and families.
Endeavors continues to find ways to serve those in need, working hard to expand programs and services. In 2021, they expanded their migrant services line of service to help more children and families in need and opened the Veterans Wellness Center in San Antonio to provide wrap-around wellness services to Veterans and their families.
Endeavors currently consists of two 501(c)(3) organizations and a foundation, with a physical presence in 50 locations across Texas, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico, and providing services in 26 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. In 2022, Endeavors generated revenue of approximately $1.1 billion with a team of 2,200 employees.
Formed in 2021, Reach Resilience, an Endeavors Foundation, leverages the organization’s investments to serve communities in crisis through strategic investments in purpose-aligned partners that provide economic security, well-being, disaster recovery nationwide, and critical support services for vulnerable people, including veterans, active military, first responders, and their families.

The Opportunity
Endeavors seeks a compelling and proven Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) to serve as the organization’s senior financial position and provide leadership and oversight in all matters pertaining to financial sustainability and strategy of the organization. This leader will bring expertise in financial forecasting and will have a keen ability to quickly distill and highlight key takeaways from complex financial systems, especially as it relates to the management of government contracts and financial investments.
The CFO leads all aspects of financial management for Endeavors, including the creation and implementation of department policies and procedures, preparation of budgets, development of financial reports, internal controls, management of external audit activities, and directs activities related to financial strategy, financial reporting, planning, and forecasting.
Reporting directly to and partnering with CEO Chip Fulghum, this position oversees a strong, accomplished team of 26 across the Finance, Accounting, and Controller departments.
The CFO will also serve as the Treasurer of Reach Resilience, supporting the foundation in the management of its investments, and providing oversight to accounting services, which are shared between Endeavors and Reach Resilience.
As a proactive and mission-driven member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO must play a key role in enhancing Endeavors’ vision and strategies in ways that both build upon its history and expertise and positions the organization to capitalize on the growing needs of and opportunities within the sector. This includes driving an innovative strategic plan that envisions growth and expanded impact, new initiatives, and an even stronger infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining the financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections, overseeing, and managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing sustainable growth plans, and leading finance personnel.
- Developing financial strategies by accurately forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements.
- Monitoring financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, assessing financial risks and opportunities, initiating corrective actions, and minimizes the impacts of variances.
- Managing banking relationships, borrowing functions, investing accounts and activities, and financial contract negotiations. Maintaining organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner and collaborator with the CEO and Board.
- Providing day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company.
- Connecting to the organization’s Christian values, ensuring strong alignment between the CFO’s work style and the mission of Endeavors.

As a strategic partner to the CEO, the CFO will conceptualize and analyze problems and solutions in a constructive, collaborative manner geared towards helping the entire organization. Adept at presenting financial information to the Executive Team and Board, the CFO possesses strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills. The CFO will bring to the role an expertise in financial planning and analysis as well as strategic budgeting and forecasting, with a high level of intellectual horsepower and a curious mindset, the CFO will be able to “deep dive” into the details where necessary while staying focused on the overall financial health of the organization. This leader will bring a strong business acumen with a sophisticated understanding of and the ability to manage a complex and evolving fiscal organizational framework. The CFO will remain current on the changes within the sector which may affect the financial and administrative operations of the organization. The CFO will have the ability to conceptualize and analyze both problems and solutions, providing financial modeling to leadership that will help the entire organization achieving its mission and improve performance. Ultimately, the CFO will have a bias for ‘getting things done’ enhancing systems and processes and relationships.

The CFO will be a builder with the ability to set priorities decisively, delegate responsibilities, assure accountability and allocate resources to ensure results.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $350,000 - $360,000 plus 25%-45% discretionary bonus. Compensation also includes a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, 457(f) plan, unlimited PTO, Executive life insurance, Individual Disability Insurance, and employer-sponsored Executive Exam.
