Kennesaw State seeks a talented, collaborative, and creative leader to establish a forward-looking and innovative vision for the Wellstar School of Nursing. The school has engaged in a substantial partnership with Wellstar Health System that will provide amazing opportunities for Kennesaw State’s nursing students and communities throughout Atlanta and the state of Georgia. The next Director will develop a vision of continued growth and success for the School.
Overview:
The Wellstar School of Nursing (WSON) at Kennesaw State University, housed within the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services, is a school that prioritizes student success, respect, community engagement, innovation, and research. The School is currently experiencing significant growth in enrollment with the goal of supporting the growing need for nurses throughout the state and the country. WSON students come from all corners of Georgia as well as other states and countries, and our graduates are employed primarily by world-class medical facilities of Atlanta, medically underserved regions of the southeast, and the United States military. WSON students consistently perform well on national licensing exams with a pass rate of 97%.
The Wellstar School of Nursing is one of the largest nursing programs in the state of Georgia, serving approximately 1,200 students. WSON offers undergraduate programming for pre-licensure students in a traditional and accelerated option, as well as graduate programming for advanced practice in Family Nurse Practitioner coursework, and Leadership in Administration or Education coursework. The School is comprised of approximately 80 full-time faculty and over 100 part-time faculty, who are very caring and dedicated to the mission of WSON and student success.
