In close collaboration with the associate deans, the provost has responsibility for all academic departments and interdisciplinary programs. The provost will lead faculty and associate deans in advancing the scholarly and teaching goals and mission of the College; and they will provide leadership and vision in planning, developing, and implementing academic programs, and ensuring the quality and growth of educational offerings and academic support functions. They will also be responsible for strategic planning; budget management; faculty leadership, development and support; promotion and tenure; scholarly and curricular development and assessment; and efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Finally, the provost will serve as an ambassador for the College in the Lancaster community and across the nation, and they will engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders about the value F&M offers to its students, faculty, alumni, and friends.
