Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (ELAW) is an international NGO that brings together a global community of advocates in more than 80 countries who offer each other solidarity, mutual assistance, and inspiration. Based in Eugene, Oregon, ELAW supports a global network of public interest environmental lawyers and scientists who use the law to protect the environment and human rights. What makes ELAW unique is the network of partners it supports. ELAW’s partners are lawyers who often work in their home countries to either advance environmental protection policies or use the law to hold governments and corporations accountable for environmental abuses.
The Opportunity
ELAW seeks a visionary and collaborative Executive Director (ED) to lead its global mission supporting public interest lawyers who advance environmental justice and defend human rights in more than 80 countries. The ED will be a strategic thinker, excellent communicator, and hands-on leader with demonstrated experience in nonprofit management, international partnerships, and fundraising. The ED of ELAW reports directly to the Board of Directors and supervises all programs, fundraising, and fiscal functions of the organization and its 25+ person globally dispersed team, which spans eight countries and six states in the US. Reporting directly to the ED are ELAW’s Associate Director, Law Program Director, Science Program Director, Communications Director, and Outreach Manager.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $205,000.
