The Role of Dean, College of Health and Human Services
Indiana State University proudly invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean for the College of Health and Human Services. The Dean reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and provides strategic leadership for the College of Health and Human Services.
The responsibilities of the Dean are focused on leading efforts to support student, faculty, and staff success and resource development and stewardship, including, but not limited to the following.
- Providing Strategic Leadership: Offer forward-thinking and adaptive leadership to position the College as a leader in health and human services education, scholarship, and community impact.
- Fostering Collaborative Vision: Engage students, faculty, staff, and partners in developing a shared vision for the College’s mission, values, and goals.
- Enacting Enrollment Growth: Collaborate with College and University leaders to develop a responsive and sustainable enrollment strategy focused on student success.
- Driving Program Innovation and Growth: Identify emerging workforce needs in health and human services, initiate new programs, and expand established programs that reflect industry needs and societal impact.
- Promoting Academic Excellence: Champion innovative and inclusive teaching practices, support high-impact learning experiences, and strengthen experiential learning that prepares students for career success.
- Advancing Interprofessional Education, Scholarship, and Community Engagement: Strengthen the College’s reputation by supporting faculty scholarship, interdisciplinary projects, and initiatives addressing contemporary health and human services issues.
- Upholding Accreditation and Standards: Ensure that programs meet and exceed the standards for accreditation, leading continuous improvement initiatives that support program quality and compliance.
- Building Partnerships and Collaboration: Facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration and foster partnerships within the College and across the University to enhance student, faculty, and staff success.
- Resource Stewardship and Development: Oversee the College budgets, identify funding opportunities, and cultivate partnerships to secure resources for sustaining and enhancing high-quality programs.
- Strengthening External Engagement: Cultivate, strengthen, and expand relationships with industry partners, alumni, donors, and community stakeholders to align the College’s programs with evolving industry standards and workforce demands.
