The mission of Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana (GSGCNWI) is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. They pride themselves on collaboration, communication, and teamwork. They are committed to being an equitable, trauma-informed, community-based organization serving the needs and interests of girls and their families in the 245 communities they cover.
GSGCNWI is one of the largest of more than 100 Girl Scout councils in the country. It was created in 2008 with the merger of seven independent councils, and its geographic area spans 245 communities in six Illinois and four Indiana counties. GSGCNWI impacts the lives of more than 30,000 current girl members ages 5-17 through powerful leadership development programs. GSGCNWI continues to extend their reach and impact to all girls throughout their geography.
The Opportunity
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of GSGCNWI. The CFO plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization, managing outsourced accounting services and outsourced IT services, and overseeing the organization’s investment portfolio. The CFO leads the development and implementation of the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy and serves as a liaison for key Board committees and task groups, including Audit, Investment, and Risk Management.
