Tuskegee University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science (TSACS). The University seeks an accomplished leader who can foster a culture of belonging and inspire others. This individual should be a go-getter, capable of skillfully navigating both internal and external affairs. They must have experience in program development and be recognized in their field. Additionally, the candidate must be familiar with the academic reputation process and committed to enhancing the school’s standing.

Tuskegee is a family of more than 3000 students, approximately 800 faculty and support personnel, located in Tuskegee, Alabama. Founded in 1881, the university is rooted in a history of successfully educating African Americans to understand themselves and their society against the background of their total cultural heritage and the promise of their individual and collective future. Tuskegee is recognized as the #1 Institution for Top Performers in Social Mobility and tied for the #3 HBCU in the country by U.S. News and World Report, as the national top producer of African American aerospace science engineers, African American Ph.D. holders in material science and engineering, and more African American general officers in the military than any other institution. Tuskegee is the only historically black college or university with a fully accredited College of Veterinary Medicine that offers a doctoral degree and produces over 75% of the African American veterinarians in the world. The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) has a rich renowned history at Tuskegee, and the campus has been declared a National Historic Landmark.

A leadership profile for the position is forthcoming. Candidate review will begin immediately. While a tenured full professor is preferred, an associate professor with industry experience or an accomplished industry veteran with the proper credentials and a track record of constructing noteworthy facilities would also be considered. This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in Alabama. Salary is commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
