William & Mary, a historic and forward-thinking institution located in Williamsburg, Virginia, seeks an experienced, dedicated, and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead its human resources function during a time of transformation, progress, and growth. The CHRO serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and reports directly to the Executive Vice President for Finance & Administration. Operating within a supportive yet autonomous work environment, the CHRO’s leadership will be vital to shaping the university’s workforce development strategy, enhancing HR service delivery, and nurturing a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusivity. With a talented team of professionals and a community deeply committed to academic distinction, innovation, and public impact, the next CHRO will be instrumental in supporting William & Mary’s Vision 2026 priorities.
This is a full-time position that will be performed on-site in Virginia. The starting salary for this position is anticipated to range from $290,000-$315,000, commensurate with experience.
