The Opportunity

At this pivotal time in its history, Analysis Group seeks an inaugural Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (HDEI). Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the ideal HDEI will play a leadership role in championing Analysis Group’s ongoing commitment to developing a strong culture of inclusion. As part of the Human Resources team, this individual will collaborate closely with senior leaders to assess the current needs of the firm and will build and implement an integrated diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy. The HDEI will act as a thought partner, advising on best practices that align with the firm’s overall D&I vision.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Thoughtfully define and scope an integrated diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive culture alongside senior constituents. Provide leadership and act as a subject matter expert advising on robust diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that will positively influence all areas of the organization.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with various groups across the company. Take a consultative approach to understanding business needs with the goal of ensuring that processes reflect the firm’s D&I objectives.
  • Champion the development and design of new policies and procedures to reflect the firm’s priorities and ensure DEI principles are embedded into sustainable business operations.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs, Recruiting, L&D and HR Analytics to implement DEI initiatives. Leverage these teams to implement, measure and analyze the impact of D&I initiatives. Provide regular updates and diversity insights to the firm leadership.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing affinity groups. Regularly engage with and advise affinity groups, providing mentorship and leadership.
  • Actively assess the current social climate. Raise awareness of current affairs and provide guidance on emergent concerns that affect the organization.
  • Facilitate and contribute to professional development trainings that promote diversity awareness.
  • Develop an internal infrastructure that supports underrepresented groups. Ensure our retention and development strategy advances all employees.
  • Foster an environment of belonging based on respect, inclusion, and belonging.
Candidate Profile

The Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) of Analysis Group will possess the following attributes and competencies:

An Innovative and Strategic Leader

The Head of DEI will be a strategic thinker with the vision, capacity, and experience build a diversity and inclusion strategy and propel the firm forward in its DEI evolution. With an entrepreneurial spirit, a measurable track record of results, and an outcome-driven mindset, the Head of DEI will serve as a strategic advisor to firm leaders and a results-driven professional who knows how to get things done. The successful HDEI will be skilled at diagnosing critical areas for attention, build consensus with constituents, and implement decisive, clear strategies that anticipate and address problems with effective solutions. They will be experienced leading and managing organizational change, with a thorough, detailed and wide-ranging perspective on the impacts of these changes on the culture and community.

DEI Experience and Expertise

The Head of DEI will be an experienced professional passionate about the DEI space, with knowledge of DEI standard methodologies, genesis and evolution of the profession, and current research. The ideal HDEI will not only lead the efforts of Analysis Group being more diverse, equitable, and inclusive but also lead the way towards ensuring Analysis Group’s culture and environment remain free of bias. As an internal resource, this person will be an experienced advocate for DEI topics, and will be comfortable both challenging and building consensus among senior leadership, Analysis Group staff, as well as the Board of Directors. This individual will also be experienced in the definition, implementation, improvement and/or leadership of diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Additionally, the Head of DEI will have the skill in analyzing, measuring, and reporting on the efficacy of DEI programs and activities. 

Collaborative Relationship Building and Communications Skills

This person will join Analysis Group with a listening-first approach, devoting time to understanding the DEI priorities within the organization. The Head of DEI will need to be a patient and thoughtful communicator as they lead Analysis Group’s ongoing efforts to establish shared vocabulary and norms. This individual will have experience designing and facilitating inclusive professional development for talented professionals that encourages openness, transparency, and active listening.

A Relationship Builder, Influential Communicator, and Change Agent

The Head of DEI will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an exceptional ability to listen intently, think clearly, and respond effectively, empathically, and judiciously to a variety of challenges. This leader will garner support for all aspects of the management of DEI, including developing the internal structures and systems to support new and innovative programming. With confidence and gravitas, the Head of DEI will be skilled at building and sustaining excellent relationships across Analysis Group, with a demonstrated ability to connect, build bridges, and command respect. They will work to develop relationships internally and externally for the benefit of Analysis Group, identifying organizational efficiencies and leveraging opportunities to advance the company’s mission and practice. The Head of DEI will be consultative, promoting open dialogue across Analysis Group, synthesizing divergent views, and coalescing the organization around a shared and inclusive vision for DEI.

In addition, strong candidates will offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred. However, academic credentials will not take the place of a robust DEI track record of knowledge and achievements.
  • An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • DEI track record of at least 5 years.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; ability to navigate ambiguity; intellectual curiosity; and interest in building a robust and sustainable D&I strategy.
  • Successful history of creating and implementing DEI policies. Change agent with a track record of creating transformation and producing sustainable DEI results.
  • Willingness and ability to get things done, both advising strategically and rolling up their sleeves to make things happen.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships. Skilled with garnering consensus and influencing constituents at all levels.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills along with superb, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional listener with an ability to empathize.
  • Exercises sound and equitable judgement: ability to navigate complex issues thoughtfully with a solutions orientation.
  • Approachable and authentic disposition; optimistic with passion and a sense of humor; and engenders trust and builds confidence.
